Finding Old Classmates
Jerry Guilfoyle's Notes
Check Nassau and Suffolk telephone books. It helps if you have middle initials for
common last names. If people you contact are not the ones you are seeking, they may be a
relative and know the classmate's telephone number or address.
Locating the females is a bit more difficult. Check with St. Pascal's (Msgr. Robert
McCourt, St. Pascal Baylon Church, 112-43 198th Street, St. Albans, NY 11412; phone
718-468-3511; email pascalbay " at " aol " dot "
com and
see if they were married there. This will give you married names. If they weren't married
at St. Pascal's but were baptized there, they would have to get a letter from St.
Pascal's stating that they were baptized before they could get married in another Catholic
church. St. Pascal's should have the married name listed. If not, they could tell you the
church that they got married in.
If they weren't married or baptized in St. Pascal's, then have St. Pascal's check their
first Holy Communion record. This will tell you what church that they were baptized in .
Call that church and they will tell you if they received a letter from the classmate to
verify their baptism. The church could tell you where the person was married and to whom
they were married.
When you do find an old classmate, ask them if they have the telephone number, address,
or even just the city or state of another classmate.
Be prepared for a large telephone bill... (or you could search
on "free telephone" for one of the many new sites offering this
service).
Look for classmates at the PascalAlumni-NYC
Yahoo Group.
